Actually, I recognize a lot more fandoms than I watch/read.

Possibly because of all the hours I've spent on TVTropes... and maybe because of all the time I spend on the Internets.

Don't feel bad, I don't know what the half the crap is either. I think if you tried pursuing everything on f!s you'd burn out real quick. I'm tempted to look into things sometimes but mostly I think it would probably be a bad idea.

I don't know most of the fandoms either. I mainly use F!S as a daily digest of everything that's popular in fandom. Of course, usually around half of the secrets don't really require much knowledge of the canon.
