Just got into this show and haven't really explored the fandom yet. Should I stay clear?

Well, I really like the fandom, but there can be a bit of bitching. Unless you're really invested in Barney/Robin, it might not be worth it.

I'm just getting into this fandom but I've not really participated yet. I lurk in the barney/robin comms and such because I like the fic, but I'm starting to avoid the post-ep discussion, esp there.

I get all excited after an ep then go to the barney/robin comms and it's alot of complaining. I may be barney/robin but I still like the show without any shipper stuff- alot of them don't seem to!

I'm wary of going to anymore comms because I don't want more complaining about a show I'm enjoying. I'm thinking of steering clear of this fandom...

This is the second secret I've seen of this type, and I think I might know who you're talking about. But, really, don't avoid the fandom just because of one fan. It's actually really great.

I'm not involved in this fandom (even though I'm a huge BrOTP fan), but I had a similar situation in a fandom for one of my favorite shows. Some BNFs were/are basically ruining fun for everybody... It just sucks.

I also think I maay know who this is about (or maybe not?), and I totally get where you're coming from. But other than that "problem", I genuinely really like the fandom. I haven't really noticed the bitching other people are mentioning. Yes, there is some criticism about some of the episodes, but the show is so great that there is a lot to love still, and it's fun to have people to squee with about more than the humor - most of the people I know irl who watch it are guys, and they don't really squee about the romance or all the little things.

Anyways, I'm curious as to whether or not the OP is talking about the person I think she's (assuming it's a female) talking about. And whether it's the same person I assumed an earlier secret was talking about.
