I think Thomas has forgotten what color his skin is.

I didn't think homophobia and misogyny were the purview of any one race?

DA

I believe this was with regard to interracial marriage which will def be up on the chopping block too. Thomas is in an interracial marriage himself

How in the fuck can anyone even conceive that being axed? I mean the homophobia and misogyny ties in with crazies interpretation of religion, so I see where that's coming from. But interracial marriage? What in the fuck.

The Republicans' base also includes the far-right white nationalists, and a lot of fundie churches lean that way.

I can’t speak for any other Americans but myself, but no offense taken.

Interracial marriage wasn't legal until the 1960s. Not that long ago.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loving_v._Virginia

If you're suggesting overturning that could never happen in America, plenty of shit that could never happen in America... totally happened in America over the last few years. Just assume it's coming if they have their way. (As voters, Americans need make sure those fuckers don't get their way.)

Many of the women who are going to be affected most by this are Black. He is also married to a white woman and seems to think the white nationalists won't come after him.

Reminds me of the "Leopards Eating People's Faces Party" post I see passed around on social media. "I didn't think the leopards would eat MY face!" sobs a party member and such.

That was originally an Onion headline. I don't think the Onion folks are ever going to recover from the real world becoming their parody.

I know. I feel bad for them too.

He's such a stupid asshole. I wish they'd kick him and all the assholes who lied to get into the SC out and to the curb.

Re: Roe v. Wade thread.

I agree they should be kicked to the curb. But, when someone has spent their entire careers saying that Roe v. Wade should be overturned, maybe don't act all shocked and sad that they actually did it once they got the opportunity. Anyone who was paying attention saw the writing on the wall in November 2016, and none of the justices who voted to do this came out of left field with the decision.

I am sick as fuck of people acting like it's a big surprise when Republicans do things that have literally been written into the Republican platform as goals for over thirty years. They're going after the EPA next. Toss-up if they'll go after the FDA next or skip straight to gay marriage. After that, birth control. Then, probably the ADA.

I wasn't shocked at all. Not sure where you're getting that.

And people can be sad about it if they want. Whether or not you see a train coming from a mile away, it doesn't hurt any less when you're tied to the tracks.

At least two of them did lie under oath that they would uphold precedent in their confirmation hearings.
