People use fiction to explore the emotions of breaking taboos vicariously through the characters. Even if you would never cheat yourself, it can be powerful and sexy to explore the intensity of emotion that could compel someone to do that.

Of course. I do not mean "how could you!" in the moral sense, I mean literally how, as in I'm not sure what infidelity kink (actual infidelity not roleplay) would look like in a fic.
