I think the word itself is fine. But some of the people who use it are kinda annoying, unfortunately.

Yeah, it's almost always people who are too twee to just say lesbian.

Interestingly, it's also almost always antis.

I would say, it's almost always people who are on the soft-and-precious end of things, which has a large overlap with antis.

+1, and I agree with the user above me who says it's usually coming from people who don't want to say "lesbian" or WLW or whatever. The sound of the word "sapphic" doesn't annoy me, but I roll my eyes anymore when I see it used because it's become such a buzzword.

I find it's easier to say url than WLW, but that's it.

Agreed. If I see something described as "lesbian" or "WLW" or "queer" I know it's...going to have lesbians in it. If I see something described as "sapphic" I still might read it but it's a strong clue that it may be too soft uwu smol bean for my tastes.

I have the same reaction to the word "relish"

I don't mind moist at all, it just reminds me of cake.

+1

Good cake, at that.

Yes, agreed. The best kind of cake.

Maybe it's because English isn't my first language, but I never got why people hate "moist" so much. It's not the prettiest word, but I don't feel it's gross or disgusting, either. I write fic in English and sometimes it bums me out that I can't use the word because people don't like it lol
