You don't, but it can make gardening shows in particular difficult if your climate and local plants are totally different.

AYRT I guess? I've never had the opportunity. Idk though, I think I'd still find it interesting.

Not really though. And it's not as if the climates mentioned are all that difficult to compensate for.
Like I agree with the above poster, as in I was genuinely gonna ask the same myself- I see a lot of people mention that can't or /shouldn't/ enjoy one media over another simply because it's from one place over another.

And on one hand I get it, or I at least assume it's something closer to my own experience; that certain locals have different stigmas against content produced by their national rivals, or that sort of thing. Otherwise, when I see comments in secrets like this, I wonder if it's simply the content itself. That one broadcast is notably worse than another so preferring it can be something of an embarrassment if admitted out loud.
Your reasoning is something I haven't actually considered that much beforehand. At least when it comes to gardening. 'Cause especially when it comes to gardening there isn't much that you /can't/ learn. Be it perennials, annuals, feed, sunlight, watering, or what's a weed or not, is often if not always explained in gardening shows. Like you legit cannot make a show that only says 'plant here' or 'water then' for any specific region because there wouldn't be enough viewership or content enough to make it watchable.

I mean I apparently have a lot to say about this, but for as long as I've watched gardening shows its been more about learning and enjoying the flowers and how they grow than wanting to know when the harvest moon is coming up this year.

There's a perception that BBC Scotland's programming is automatically inferior to the Britain wide stuff.

Sometimes this is true - the budgets are certainly smaller - but it isn't always.
