I'm not exactly sure what you mean since I haven't fallowed the exact details of K-Pop in a while. But if I'm interpreting this correctly, I say, you're not alone and it's perfectly fine to feel disappointed. I'm genuinely glad you're excited to see what they'll do next individually.
I remember so many groups breaking up that I was so scared that my groups would split up too. I can't remember exactly but it was a fear somewhere tied into the fact it seemed so parallel to the boyband/girlgroups of the past (aka, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, etc.) where the idols were so overworked and taken advantage of, and that so many groups were essentially forced to as part of their mandatory service to the military in S.Korea.

I got so lucky/horrified in the case of my two favourite groups a number of years ago. Both Block B and Shinee.
The first group literally had all their families extorted as they were essentially forced to work into poverty as their producer/manager/someone used their contract/work as leverage in order to make himself rich. There was a scandal where one of their members mentioned he didin't have even a common bill in his name during a performance and was criticized for being insensitive, only for all of the derelict to come out after the fact.
I guess the guy who extorted them didn't live to make it to court, and I was convinced they would break up as I know most (if not all) groups are forced together due to convenience/availability. I felt so guilty about it, especially because I got my cousin to buy their album for my birthday as my first attempt to support an artist legitimately rather than DL their content for free, for the first time in a seriously long time to boot. So like finding out they decided to stick together regardless- hell! even the fact they were able to make it out of that situation without being blacklisted or whatever was such a legitimate shock as well.

So while I wouldn't hold your horses in the immediate, I'm definitely sure BTS isn't broken up for good. They (to be both callous and cruel) make wayy too much money for that.
And if I'm reading this right, the group who's tryna fall in their footsteps is most likely going to double up their game in order to take BTS's place. K-pop on the regular has been trying to enter american and other mainstream markets for /years/, decades actually. BTS was barely even trying, they weren't marketed from some super big company to broadcast to many offshore interests. It's actually what makes them so great tbh.

And while I'm writing this speech apparently to shove off some long lasting grief to people who do not give a shit. The only fear I think you would have is the military recruitment. Idols often do go back to their companies and groups, but splitting up is the best way for them to maintain their popularity as best they can while different members both recover and take their mandatory service.

(also lol sorry about the therapy visit here, I guess I was having a worse day than I thought??)

*someone leaves a long comment on a blog dedicated about sharing opinions*

anon: how dare you make me read this long comment I specifically had to scroll down to find! I'm going to make sure you know that I think you're wasting my time by also wasting my time, but in an extra condescending way!
