While I wouldn’t venture to say one is better than the other, I think the remake is one of the best remakes I’ve ever seen.

It takes the essential coolness and bare premise of the original, but updates the details and character relationships to be more contemporary. Steve McQueen’s version of the character (and his relationship with Faye Dunaway’s character) would not have been half as charming in the 1990s as it was in the late 1960s. Plus, you get Faye Dunaway snarking at his flaws, which is even more fun if you’ve seen the original.

I won't argue it's a very solid remake I'm just very pro Steve McQueen lol. xD So I'm always going to lean towards his version. Even the Magnificent Seven remake imo was very good but... no SM. :(
