(Anonymous) 2022-07-01 11:24 am (UTC)(link)Since when are translations the #1 reason people jump ship on anything, much less gacha games? And yes, some people hate dubs. But the way you describe dubbing voices as a “//HUGE// hell no for most people” is something I don’t know is actually quite true for most people, and makes it sound like you’re describing a trigger or squick. And some translations aren’t great, but I don’t think it’s as common for them to make characters look a lot worse than they generally are. At least not as common in modern translations, which actually try to be faithful more than they did back in earlier days of translating Japanese media.
I’m just confused as to what you mean, I’m not trying to be rude. Ensemble Stars is apparently an example of bad translations according to OP(I’ve never played it so I’m taking their word for it). So I’m not saying you’re wrong about the translation of the game, or other cases. I just don’t know if what you’re saying is always true in general.
