I miss when that was the default for these threads. There's never any "secrets you don't want to post (and also don't want someone else to post for you)" anymore. It's always assumed you want someone to put it on a picture and make a big deal out of it. Some fandom secrets aren't meant to be Fandom!Secrets.

I mean, there’s nothing stopping you from making a thread like that. I think you just need to make it explicit.

Er... there ARE threads like that, and anyone can start such a thread at any time. I would, of course, respect the commenters wishes if it's stated upfront they don't want their comment to be made into a secret. I also make it clear in my own posts that I DO intend to make comments into a secret, so anyone who doesn't want that shouldn't post in that specific thread.
