I think more people need to embrace that out of a 5 star system, 3 stars is still GOOD. It's smack bang in the middle, that's not awful! There's books I enjoyed but didn't feel like they were anything special so I rate them 3 to 3.5 because they weren't so bad or dull that I could bring it down to 2.5 and not horrendously terrible that I could rate it 1 or DNF.

I feel like that's a problem with some serial 4 star raters, they're afraid that 3 is mean or something.
