Its something that's been cooking in the back of my head --- since I had also been mulling over why Reginald would have worked so much with Klaus just to betray him at the end the way he did.

Realize he probably did have a plan to use Klaus' functional immortality against the guardians up until he had to do that major design change to motivate everyone with Luther's death. Suddenly having a medium who could be talked into summoning Luther's shade for goodbyes (or if he did die and saw Luther before he resurrected) is a security flaw he cannot afford. Best get rid of him before the beans get spilled and all that.

So Allison being an ace in the back pocket starts looking more likely to me.
