Book verse yesss. PJ noooooo!

Tolkien knew what he was writing about, don't mess with it.

I'm a film version skeptic, but this is one of the parts that PJ does really pull off.

This was the first scene that sprang to my mind, too!

Came here to post this. Chills every time even though I know full well it's coming.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-10 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I feel like Lord of the Rings is almost cheating because the movies have so many instances of this.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-10 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
True! But Helms Deep still stands out for me. I think it may be one of the best cinematic battles ever, and the Rohirrim arriving is an amazing moment.

Admiral Raddus and the fleet showing up for Rogue One

"No, sir! All thirteen!" in Day of the Doctor

Much as I disliked the Hobbit movies, the scene where the wood elves team up with the dwarven army is a really cool scene and the only thing I rewatched several times from the whole trilogy.

On your left.

Tom Jones being saved from hanging!

(Anonymous) 2022-07-10 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Does the Millennium Falcon showing up to cover Luke on the Death Star bombing run count? Because forty years later I still cheer that scene.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-10 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely, stellar example. *grins*

(Anonymous) 2022-07-09 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hell yeah. It's a great trope. You're right and you should say it.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-09 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. Sometimes they're cheezy but I have a soft spot for this stuff so bad.

That is a super-awesome trope, hell yeah.
wingedcatgirl: Ringo Andou (Puyo Puyo) lost in thought. (ringothink)

:thunking: Are there more bad examples than good ones? Has anyone counted? how would you sort them into bad and good

(Anonymous) 2022-07-10 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Does the moment make you cheer or roll your eyes? I'm not sure how many bad examples there would be.
