I am overweight and completely comfortable with it and don't get jealous of skinny girls, but I get jealous over other things, obviously. Everyone does and if they say they don't, they're lying liars who lie.

Likewise, I think we all wonder if someone else is jealous of us at some point. I catch myself wondering if some of my friends at uni are jealous of my good grades. It wouldn't make me feel better about myself to know if they are, but I question it. Because I know I'd be jealous if the shoe was on the other foot. I think we're all "that person" at least a little bit. I don't think there's anything wrong with it necessarily, unless you try to make people jealous in order to elevate yourself. Then we're in a whole different area.

I think it's perfectly normal to have these kinds of thoughts on occasion, as long as you recognize that it's not a good thought process and try to squash it. Thoughts are random, and no one is a saint in their own mind 100% of the time. Who wants to be Melanie Hamilton, anyway?

And no, it doesn't mean that you are "that kind of person". If you were that kind of person, you wouldn't recognize that it's uncharitable.

This. Unkind thoughts are going to happen. It's whether or not you check yourself about them, and if OP is doing that, then I can't fault her.

I have to thank you for having the mental capacity to realize that you DON'T want to end up like her. (Maybe I'm just jaded from people I go to class with, but still.)

And even if she's not jealous, I am. Sorry. Can't help it most of the time.
