A-fucking-men about the ending. To top it off, the ending had a religious smell. The fear of god and the fear of god ONLY will keep humanity in line? And, Dr. Manhattan is the new god? Oh, kids. Better say your prayers to the big blue idol because if you misbehave, Lord Manhattan is going to smite you. What the fuck is that? The smartest man in the world couldn't come up with something more than 'people come together after a disaster'? Might as well have just incited World War III! After all, that's how the utopia world of Star Trek formed. And, it isn't as though there's a whole genre of films/literature about what could go wrong after a large scale disaster renders society changed, right? *cough*post-apoc*cough* Also, re-rendering the alien as a bombing in a major city in a post 9/11 America? Yeah, the blind devotion the country showed in that moment didn't have ANY ramifications and wasn't abused at ALL by our leaders.

I think more thought went into the outfits than the plot. I'm...disappointed in the American comic book industry that this was the best they thought they had to offer. It had three or four nice meta comments on 'the psychoclogy of a superhero' and the rest was just shock value pointless.

The reality is, people do come together to defeat an outside threat. It's been seen again and again in history.

And we weren't suppose to view it as a good solution to a problem or one that wouldn't eventually crumble.

Actually, I'm not a troll.

I just happen to think your attempt to force a religious overtone onto the ending of the movie showed that you totally missed the point. The comparison of Dr. Manhattan to God was to show how powerful the public viewed him (in part due to his power, in part due to how the U.S. had presented him).

Not to mention that the fact that you imply we're suppose to view the ending of the movie as the good solution that brought about peace when that really wasn't the case.
