M hero / F villain ships

Hankering for stuff with this particular dynamic - any recs? It doesn't have to be a full-on villain situation, but basically anything where the relationship is at least somewhat antagonistic and the female character is more morally dubious than the male character.

Mmmm.... Callisto/Hercules and Discord/Iolaus ala Hercules: The Legendary Journeys... hnngh... but there are so few fanworks for either ship... but yeah... goooood ships that I was disappointed didn't get further explored in either canon or fandom.

Mab/Merlin ala Merlin (1998). There's some stuff over on AO3.

Nevan/Dante ala Devil May Cry has some smokin' hot fanworks floating about around the internet.

Luther? Idris Elba's titular character may be more morally grey than you want but amazing cat and mouse scenario with Alice who starts off as an antagonist but never stops being very morally dubious even as she develops a warped fondness for Luther (and he does against his will later).

Ooooh, Luther! I forgot about Luther, I should definitely rewatch that. Thanks!

Batman/Catwoman is the classic.

Ah yes! A classic for a reason, and they had a lot of Catwoman stuff in the most recent adaptation, didn't they? Definitely good to check out, thanks!

It's not a specific rec, but rather a search rec, if you're not against OC or Reader fics.

If you go into one of the major fandoms (MCU, BNHA, SPN, etc.) And you pick the pairing, just under additional tags, include villain reader.

I know it's vague, and I can think of about three specific fics where the pairing you're looking for was featured, but it wasn't very well written (entertaining though!) -- or rather, it moved along too fast without thorough character development that I like to see. Hope you find some!!

Hm, as in, the reader is the villain? That's an interesting concept - I'll check it out although I do think readerfic can be very, very, very hit or miss. Thanks for the rec though!
