Yeah, Oklahoma is going through a horrible hot front. Going to be triple digits until mid-August probably.

I haven't checked the forecast because I am fortunate enough to have central AC and work from home (and live in a state where the power grid is pretty robust, it helps I'm right next to an airport), but after a comfortably warm but not hot weekend I went to take a bike ride early in the morning Monday and saw mist.

Which was very pretty over on the trails, but since the forecast high was 87, I groaned because that stuff was all going to be hanging in the air making it hard to breathe. And indeed. It really IS not the heat, but the humidity, and that was the case again today. Since the weather patterns tend to come in from the west, and the folks west of me have had ridiculous temps the last couple days, I expect in a day or two it will escalate further.

Man, I would love 87. It is 80 degrees when I get up at 6am! Makes me so angry.

Yeah, I have a friend in Texas who has been trying to get cosplay done... she's apparently been doing her spraypainting at like 3am because that's the only time it's not too hot. :P

Also she just posted earlier some pics she took of a somewhat elaborate costume which covers her almost entirely, with layers, and I believe she got up at about 5am to take them outside. Her mother has "forbidden" her (she's 40) from wearing it this weekend because it's going to be 110, hahahah.

I expect the weather won't get that bad this much further north, but I keep hearing about the hot weather even more directly west so I expect 87 will sound nice to me in a few days too.

It has been at least 90 already when I've gotten up every morning for the past week and a half.

And my car said 116 when I got out there after work. And that was with a windshield cover on.

Brit here, and we've just had our hottest day on record, just over 40C. I'm in the southwest where it's significantly cooler, thankfully. This has been the year where I've finally stopped pretending to enjoy hot weather, it just makes me sweaty, dizzy and ill. I like some sunshine, but there were wildfires burning up houses in some towns today and multiple drownings from people swimming in open water to cool off. :( Hoping for rain soon.

Western Europe, but we're not used to this weather.

It only got up to 81 in NorCal today so not too bad, plus its been cooling off nicely enough at night to sleep under blankets with the windows open so I am not complaining.

You must be inland - I'm by the coast and it's been cool and overcast here.

Hot as blazes. We had a record 109F. So yes, my car was awful when I got out to it. My ipod froze up while going home just from touching the inside of the hot car.

My office building is kept really cold, though. So I have to layer with a cool top but a warm blazer/sweater.

It was only 85ish today in Chicago, and not too humid.

I'm a little sus...

I live in Milwaukee and while 80s are unpleasant it's really not an unusual level of heat for around here in the summer. I feel left out of the heat wave.

Been in the high 90s all week and I'm dying. I know it isn't that hot comparatively to elsewhere but I am very heat sensitive, breaking into rash and getting nauseous when temperatures hit over 80.

It wasn't as hot as it has been - only 97 (36) for the high today, but tomorrow the forecast is for over 100, and 106 (41) over the weekend. Combined with a heat index that is usually about 4 to 6 degrees higher than the actual temp, it's gonna SUCK.

We got rain over the weekend (finally) but not enough, and it's somehow disgustingly humid out. Lucky for me, my house can usually stay under 85, and I only run the AC for a couple hours around 5pm.

I so hate this weather.

Raining at last! The temperatures dropped 10°C overnight from heatwave-of-doom back to normal summer weather.

I wanted to try and see if I could fry an egg on my windowsill during the heatwave, but I was out of eggs at the time and it was too hot to go do a grocery run and get more. Maybe next time--I'm not looking forward to it but there will be other heatwaves.)
