I dunno putting that much effort into finding out where he lived just so you could walk by his house sounds pretty stalker-ish to me

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You might be overestimating just how easy it is to find this kind of info. Unless you think Googling is a lot of effort? I'm not being sarcastic, some some people genuinely seem to think that one Google search is more effort than they want to put into doing anything.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
In finding out where strangers live? Yeah that’s a lot of effort.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. So you ARE one of those people who think Googling is super complicated and hard, gotcha.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Not really. I use google all the time to look up useless facts about random topics. Not to find out where celebrities I don't know live. People aren't consumable products and deserve not to be bothered by weirdos googling their address so they can "walk by their house."

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
true but a different point to how much effort it requires.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
it takes zero effort not to be a weirdo tho

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno about that, I suspect for some people that takes a lot more effort than it does for others! XD

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No it isn't. Doesn't need Google necessarily either. I found the business address of a celeb's partner, which is also their home address. In the back of a book about that business.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I mostly found out his address just to see if I could. It took 10 or 15 minutes.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That doesn’t make it less creepy!

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
What about paparazzi as a comparison?

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, paparazzi are creepy

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Papparazzi are stalkers yes.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
At least paparazzi get paid to be stalkers. Y'all out here finding out where people live for free cause you can. That's weird!

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's much much much worse to sell photos taken without consent than to just mention on a tiny niche online forum that you looked up their house and never actually bothered the person at all.

Seriouly, you think "they did it because they got paid" makes it BETTER?!?

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, this, jesus!

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Where did I say that it was better? I didn't. It's still unacceptable. But being paparazzi is a job. How legitimate is dubious.

Both of these things can be and are weird is what I'm saying.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-30 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
DA
I think it's fine to just find out, a little weird, but ok. Now, going through the trouble to go there borders stalker-ish behavior tbh, even if nothing else was done, still creepy.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
That's interesting. I usually find answers to things I google in about under a minute.

10-15 minutes sounds like you put forth a bit of effort.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-31 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
lol.
