"the fact that Kinn was Always Right "

Er, isn't there that whole thing in the middle where Kinn Screws Up Big Time and there's a couple of eps of him coming around to, 'Oh, I really did screw up and hurt someone, and I have no idea how to apologise in a meaningful way.'

That's one of the things I love about Kinn's character. He basically goes from forcing Porsche to re-enact William Tell because he thinks he owns Porsche to immediately understanding Porsche's body language and attempts to sooth him both verbally and physically without actually first knowing why Porsche was upset. I just about cooed in episode 14 when he protected his own bodyguards.

Kinn went from an actual character to Kinn Always Right around the side story/soft date episode and I stopped enjoying him. I get it, a lot of people really liked that. I found it unearned, felt it never actually seemed like real character development (he'd already protected his bodyguards aka Porsche in like the third episode) and put the entire relationship in Porsche always forgiving Kinn because Kinn only made mistakes because Porsche made him. And then to have Kinn stand in front of Porsche's parents graves that he surprised him by taking to and to have him list, specifically, all the things Porsche did wrong and only vaguely say that he hurt him? Kinn Always Right! Only does a little wrong, nothing specific, no one needs to hear about that.

???? He protected PORSCHE. Because he was falling in love with him. Pete explicitly says that Kinn USED to be more open and caring with his people. We don't see Kinn protecting anyone else until after he and Porsche get together.

I don't think there's a single time in the show where Porsche apologizes to Kinn for anything, but Kinn explicitly asks for forgiveness in ep 6 and then says sorry multiple times only AFTER the side story.

The scene in the graveyard was a very sweet and comedic scene. He wasn't listing out all the things Porsche did wrong; he was explaining to Porsche that he sees all of him, the brat, the troublemaker, the person who will charge ahead and do what he thinks he needs to, and loves him not in spite of it but because of it. It was a lovely emotional scene, with that gentle in-joke between the two of them for emotional intimacy. Not gonna go well to follow that up with a comment about the dubcon and the mafia violence. That's not the tone of the scene, and it wasn't what Kinn wanted to tell Porsche.

He protects Porsche before they're together! That's a whole thing, where he pulled him out of the way and then bandaged him up?

Kinn literally refused to apologize for a plan that put Chay in danger and involved using Porsche as a pawn because Porsche asked for an apology and ended up accepting a make out session instead that was so fluffy and jsut soft... I wish this show had let them be more problematic, seriously.

I did not find it sweet or comedic. I found it very bothersome and insulting to Porsche and to downplay Kinn in every way of everything and it felt just like more of Porsche being laughed at because Kinn does things right and he makes all the mistake.

But, I will clarify, I did not enjoy them as a couple despite the actor's being fantastic and found their storyline too fluffy and soft for what I was hoping for from a mafia show.

Pulled him out of the way and then banged him up? He pulled him out of the way of a bullet and then PATCHED him up. There was a whole scene about it.

Kinn didn't refuse to apologize. Porsche accused Kinn of still not trusting him, and Kinn responded. We know from several mentions that Kinn does NOT KISS. But he kisses Porsche.

I love how you claim that they're too sweet and fluffy and soft, and then immediately accuse Kinn of basically running roughshod over Porsche and it's bothersome and insulting, but you wish they were more problematic.....

Just admit that you wanted more screentime for the kinky BDSM couple and you didn't pay attention at all to the main.

I wish I had been to enjoy the main couple the way you did. I really do. I wanted to and didn't and I am sad but it's not worth an argument because, honestly, we basically watched different shows. I accept that.

So I suppose the clarification is that Kinn is Always Right once the relationship starts. Post sidestory. Before that, he's actually a character with depth, just like Porsche is! They were both very, very interesting before that.

And then... Kinn was always right. He had the plan when Tawan showed up again and Porsche fucked up. Kinn's choices were always the right choices and every time Porsche displayed any kind of jealousy or fear (until the last two episodes or so, I guess) it was played for the audience to laugh at and for Kinn to forgive him for feeling that way.

I wanted to love this show so much. I wanted to like their pairing so much but they felt like 2gether Mafia Edition for most of the episodes and all their depth went out the window for a helicopter blowjob and then we had the twist at the end that made me laugh so hard I had to pause and it then Porsche became the minor leader?!!? gjkdflgndsf ahahahaha way to throw any and all character development out the window for a twist about Korn having all the power.

Obviously Kinn wasn't right if Porsche not being in on the plan could fuck it up. Kinn's plan would have worked if he had let Porsche in on it, but (because of...um...trust issues) he didn't and the whole thing went to hell. Porsche's jealousy and fear was treated extremely seriously once he stopped getting into investigative hijinks and went to Kinn directly. It was a lovely, intimate scene, where they had a heart to heart and Kinn opened up about the source of his trust issues and Porsche explained his insecurity. The whole thing about Porsche being the head of the minor family will hopefully, if there is one, be explored in the second season, but it matches perfectly with Porsche's character development. It took him all season, but he explicitly says that he's giving his life and his loyalty to Kinn. But Kinn is still under his father's thumb, having been groomed his entire life. And the only way that Porsche can keep his loved ones in his life (including mom) is to play Korn's game.

I think you either didn't pay attention, or aren't used to good acting. Because holy shit there's so much you've missed.

I think a lot of people are... yeah, I'm just gonna agree to disagree.

I found all the depth you're seeing here in Vegas and Pete.

I'm not doing to deny that they're fantastic actors. They are. Both Mile and Apo are amazing actors who did an amazing job when they were given a chance to have depth and to be the deep characters they could be.

I think the show robbed them of a lot.

Okay, so Kinn had a plan that failed because he didn't tell Porsche and then it was a joke, ahahaha, Porsche didn't know and Kinn doesn't apologize but Porsche always forgives him because Kinn is always right (always) and Porsche has to forgive him no matter what. Trust issues? He'd already told Porsche about Tawan and the trust issues. That discussion was before any of the plan went into action! After the plan it was just a light whap upside the head and then they made out.

Look, there's a lot to be said for the show overall and all of the actors involved were amazing. But I just don't like the way they handled Kinn and Porsche's relationship. I didn't enjoy their interactions or the way the show handled their growth, I found it jarring and frustrating and didn't enjoy the end at all since Porsche had dedicated himself to Kinn wholly and literally refused to hire other bodyguards because he wanted to protect Kinn and then accepted a position that puts him in a place that he cannot protect Kinn that way at all which is, in fact, directly against all of his growth in the show to accepting his position as Kinn's protector.

I recommend you go back and rewatch it. And this time, actually pay attention.

No, thanks. It was hard enough to get through the first time. I did not enjoy them. They were very, very good actors but I found their relationship not to my liking and I am willing to say that. Anonymously. I'm not under a name because the last time I posted any criticism of the show I got attacked, trolled and harassed.

yah, it's like theese people do not want to discuss their favorite show with others. What they want is a sound board, agreeing with everything. Disagree? Here's negative comments. The one above is especially stupid because it doesn't make sense and would never work and it just invalidades any good points they had in the thread.

Seems to me like it's not disagreeing. First anon made a claim, second anon provided evidence that they were wrong. First anon double down with no evidence. This is just being wrong.

Anon1 literally said to go watch something anon2 didn't like because their subjective opinion is the right one and implied that anon2 didn't watch it well enough. After a lengthy argument anon1 got. That was very rude imo.

If they wanted to say that they didn't enjoy it, fine. If they want to say that sure, the facts were one way, but they didn't feel the way the show tried to make them feel, fine.

But to claim things that are factually untrue to justify their feelings is just wrong.

I have the same issue with HP. I hate Harry/Ginny. It felt like it came out of left field. My friends argued that there was lead up, and I can see their point. I was factually incorrect, but I still didn't feel it and I didn't like it. And that's okay. But I'm not going to double down on being factually incorrect.

Ehh, maybe. I didn't watch KinnPorshe past the first episode so no opinion. Still, the reply was way too rude. The thread shows that anon2 watched the whole thing so they couldn't be too wrong. They say they didn't like the lack of trust and that the relationship was one sided with Porshe devoting himself to Kinn. That's subjective and not an imposible take regardless of the facts.

There was some one sided Ginny/Harry foreshadowing in the books btw...

Like I said, if they had just said they didn't like it, fine.

But I have a chronic case of "someone is wrong on the Internet" disease and the idea that the show tries to portray Kinn as Never Wrong and never apologizing is laughable. Kinn messes up at least three things in the first episode, and starts apologizing like mad after ep 6.

Also, I have to take issue with the idea that they don't like how one sided it is, but also thinks it's too fluffy and wish it was more problematic. The power imbalance itself is problematic. This implies to me that this was less someone with an actual thought out point, and more someone who was disappointed with what they got and are externalizing it.

As for HP, yeah, one sided. Harry's feelings came out of nowhere for me.
