I feel like it's disingenuous to note that an opinion in a secret can be "controversial" - as OP has admitted - then imply anything beyond "respectful disagreement" to an admittedly controversial statement is crossing some kind of line.

Like people can post any controversial statement they want but all others can do is respectfully disagree or else they're rude?

you have a point there, but simply feeding the fire by fighting in the comments isn't going to solve anything.

I wasn't saying that anyone can post anything no matter how offensive. Of course, people submitting secrets need to be held accountable, they need to follow the same rules of courtesy.

Yeah I mean maybe not, but someone made an example below of like, a JKR secret that is transphobic or something. Surely controversial. If someone goes "that's transphobic and you kinda suck shit" is that "personally attacking" the OP? Should they not do that because it's impolite?

Just saying, "everyone be polite" can easily become "please let the bigots speak in peace"

Have you seen that "Your terf lol"? I do not trust anyone on fs when they say such and such is transphobic anymore.

I think that's up to Case. If a secret goes through with warning then it's up to people to read at their own discretion.
