I'd also add, that if half a dozen people have already spat out their hot take and ill opinion of the OP, then there is no need for anyone else to keep on piling on. If it has been said, there is no need for you to also say it. That is what really creates an unwelcoming feel of a place. Your opinion is not so important that you need always voice it. Leave OPs alone in situations like that.

Huh, I never thought about things this way. It's tempting to add plus one to a side but pliling on and a witch hunt are definitely something to avoid.

People need to chill out

But we come here to join in and give our reactions to the secrets.

I agree there's no need for people to be personally abusive to OPs, but seriously people need to chill. I've made secrets I got attacked and flamed for, and I knew I would be, because I knew I was saying something controversial or inflammatory. That's why they were secrets. But people were "piling on" to a purely anonymous me. It didn't spam me with notifications, like getting piled on on twitter. I could just not read the thread if it began to upset me.
