Same, absolutely. I mean with Muse, I heard one of their songs (Time is Running Out) in an AMV contest at a con and liked it enough that I went and tracked it down when I got home, listened to it on repeat for something like a week.

Later heard a song on the radio I really liked (Hysteria), went looking to find out what it was... Also Muse.

My rule back then (before YouTube let you just pre-listen to entire albums) was that if I heard three songs from a new artist/album that I liked, I'd buy it. But those two were so good I bought Absolution, loved it all. Was not aware they had a new album out and was not familiar enough to recognize them yet when I heard Starlight - and once again loved it and went "Oh of course" when I looked it up. Same with Supermassive Black Hole, so I was just like "okay fine" and bought that album and all their others to that point, and they became one of the few bands where I didn't care if I'd heard any of the songs on the album yet, I'd just buy it. Have never regretted it, through some stylistic changes.

(Just, as noted, was not listening to music at all for about ten years and now have to play catch-up. :P)
