I also dislike the monetisation of fic, but if you think that you made a clever point about disability, go fuck yourself.

A basic example, since it seems to escape you: if I could work 40 hours one week and 2 the next week, who wants to hire me? And I don't know when those 40 hour or 2 hour weeks will be, plus I usually end up having about one surgery a year on average.

Yup, having control, or at least flexibility over when you work and when you don't is honestly huge for people with all kinds of disabilities. Even when one's disability is purely a mental health disability with no physical aspect, having that flexibility is so vital for many disabled people. The instant I have a job with a strict schedule that I'm not in control of, my mental health suffers greatly. I've spent years doing shitty piecemeal temp jobs here and there, because I need to be able to black out my schedule at my own discretion.
