It seems like the secret is intended to start some wank or something, given who it is about, but it's just such an odd way to go about it. Especially since it doesn't make very much sense - why on Earth would such a relatively tame request get a restraining order instead of an autographed picture by whoever answers his fanmail?

On the one hand, there are much more extreme ways to sexually harass someone. On the other hand, it's still sexual harassment.

Come on now, it's not like that letter would get anywhere near the man, so it's not remotely sexual harassment. Stars that big don't read their fanmail!!

DA, but I did. And yeah, that’s definitely pretty tame for fan mail. Fuck, if PotC had come out about 5 years earlier, whichever schmuck got saddled with answering Depp’s letters could have just sent them the recording they did for 1-900-ARR-YoHo.

I did. And yes, that is relatively tame. It is a request, and it is not in any way explicit. Actual thirst tweet to Daniel Radcliffe: 'daniel radcliffe is my daddy hmu with that wizard dick daddy'. Michael Rosenbaum got gifted a box of sex toys by fans during Smallville.

By no means would this constitute harassment, despite what a reply to your comment says. And there is no basis for any kind of restraining order - there are no threats, there is no intimation of any sort of physical danger, and I cannot imagine how this could make anyone feel unsafe.

Every celebrity on earth gets mail like that. It goes with the territory. If you're famous at all, you have to know that people are having sexual fantasies about you, and some of them will want to tell you about it. And yeah, it is pretty tame by that standard.

Because this sounds like what I would have written 15 years ago. I probably did, in my diary. I was So obsessed with him as Jack Sparrow. I was convinced that if I fell into a coma, I'd wake up to Jack Sparrow, as an actual person, on the other side of this coma. I was a teenager, so it all tracks. But omg. I was crazy about him. Like searching fan forums for his blood pressure and photos of his French house crazy. I hated his partner at the time (because he wasn't with me). All the shit. I love Vanessa Paradis now/by the time I got over it he was doing a movie with Jolie, and I'm as highly concerned she was going to snatch him away, because I just grew okay with him and Vanessa. And I kinda liked Angelina Jolie, so I didn't want to hate her.

Anyway. I'm just here to say, if this isn't a troll, then the 15 year old in me agrees whole heartedly and wanted to marry him, because I was in love with Jack Sparrow. I honestly would have been okay with just him saying innuendo and mildly encouraging/nice things to me lol.
