It's interesting. I feel like Finn *should* be the glue that holds everyone together but the movies completely lost interest in him. And then movie 3 just expects us to accept that everybody is a buddy but, like, they're barely coworkers. It's like the Avengers all over again.

Personally, I think TLJ did a good job of giving Finn his own storyline and making him interesting apart from Rey. Then TROS shoved them all back together and ignored his previous story.
