FF.net and Wattpad absolutely need to stay alive for as long as possible. That way there is a place to put people who don't like AO3. It's a punishment harsher than is fair for just not liking A03 but they're choosing it themselves.

Yeah, I'm not going to make this a secret because I feel like it's pretty wanky, but honestly, I'm very happy for the Wattpad crowd to have their own site. Most of them are not ready to sit at the adult's table yet. I am in no way suggesting anyone should be kept off of AO3 for any reason; hell no. But if the fourteen-year-olds choose another website of their own volition, then it's a win-win.
