That doesn't catch things if you use a word that is a word, it's just the wrong word.

(Also re: betas, some fandoms don't have enough people in them, betas can be difficult to find.)

I use Grammarly, and it's so much better at catching spelling mistakes, missing words, etc that Word or other word processing programs I've used. It's not perfect, and I hate that it doesn't exclude dialogue, but it's super helpful when you can't find a beta.
