That... is a way I've never heard metal described. It's okay for your tastes to just not line up with a favorite character's, but there are a lot of sub-genres of metal if you're interested in exploring, and they can sound radically different from each other! I can't stand a lot of more modern metal, but I love old-school stuff from Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, and even older-school stuff from Queen and Led Zeppelin. And there's symphonic metal like Nightwish if you really don't like the classic metal sound but can dig something kind of operatic.

And if you give 'em all a couple minutes and like none of them and go back to your electronica... honestly, I don't think Eddie would be disappointed-- you know what your scene is and you're true to you, but you were still open-minded enough to give metal a go. Way better to acknowledge that something isn't for you than to be a poser while it's 'cool', anyway, right?
