I'll go first! My absolute favorite right now is this relatively obscure local band called 'A Sound of Thunder'. Female-fronted, VERY eclectic, and just an overall fun bunch of people! My current favorite jam is 'Tomyris', a pretty epic song about the Queen of Scythia.

Feuerschwanz -- a German medieval metal band, epic and tons of fun.
Powerwolf -- if you like warewolves and ominous latin chanting, this is the band for you.

So my favorite band back in high school has grown and matured in sound, so if you're cool with "post hardcore metalcore" (whatever the fuck that is, according to wiki) I recommend Eyes Set to Kill. Female fronted.

Listened to one of their more recent albums out of curiosity and man am I glad I did. I hadn't kept up with them since warped tour 2009 or something and hadn't realized their sound changed/grew into this.
