Honestly, after I learned that he co-wrote Me! with Taylor, I just felt like that quality of his songs was going to drop off. Either that was sincere, or it was sabotage but either way he put that out proudly so.

Do we not like Me!? I don't really listen to either P! or Taylor but I enjoy that song. It's fun and catchy.

It is fun and catchy and probably not supposed to be taken very seriously, some people just have a stick up their ass.

Plenty of people like Me! but I would not say Me! is a sign of skill on either of their parts or a particularly good collaboration (Brenden sometimes feels like he's trying to outdo Taylor on her own song, but not in a fun way).

I'm a full-blown T-Swift fan (i.e. I can easily sing along with a solid 80% of her songs and I have Opinions about the relative strengths and weakness of her albums, etc.) and personally I find Me! to be one of her worst songs (out of 150+).

It's grown on me slightly over time; I even genuinely enjoy that punchy "uh!" in the first verse. But if I had to pick one of her songs to call a dud, it'd be Me!. And Me! does seem to get cited very often by other Swifties, too, when discussing our least favorite T-Swift songs.

It's kind of nice to hear someone say they like it, though. I'm always here for a bit of Taylor Swift positivity. :)

I'm not a fan of Taylor Swift, but I'll agree with you in Me! When I first heard it, I thought wtf is this? There's probably other songs I'm not a huge fan of, but this song was very much a confusing choice to me. Don't like it. Didn't understand why they chose Brendan to do it (vocal chops aside). It just felt...like filler covered in glitter and being told, no, this is good, really! This is good! And I'm just not buying it. :/

I find it very catchy and so I like it on that level, but I don't really care for the underlying imbalance I get from the lyrics - pick me because I'm unique among your many options (there's a lot of cool chicks out there) vs. pick me because all the other options suck (there's a lot of lame guys out there), so I just try to ignore that when I listen to it.

Any artist that goes for long enough has at least one album that even the most hardcore fans think sucked ass. Sometimes artists just make shit records, y'know? Don't worry about it.

Maybe give it some time and don't force it? I have had the experience of really needing to warm up to new albums by favourite artists, but some of those albums have become my faves. If not, you still have those older albums and that's legit Fandom too.

i'm doing better than you in this cos i like THREE of the songs on the album but yeah. the rest of the tracks i can't even get to the end on, they all sound v lackluster to me. i hope the next album is better and has some more variety to it.

Not every album that a band or artist puts out is going to be a hit with all their fans. Maybe the next will be better for you.

i hesitate to say it's bad because i feel like it's pretty standard but i also feel like that's part of the problem? i just felt bored while trying to listen to it.
