What does this even mean?

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
don't fuck unwashed nuns, obviously

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
solid life advice

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
counterpoint: [imagine I posted that one image of the dude in the yellow suit rubbing his hands together, that's my counterargument]

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends what you mean by 'good moral habits'.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I cannot be the only one who misread that exclamation point as an arrow pointing down to the nuns, can I?

Happy to oblige, though, Nonny, and ship all three of them in and out of their good moral habits.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally did too, Nonny. LOL.

I instantly ship all three of them. And really, I love the expressions on their faces in this picture, especially Maria's.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's... very old fashioned. Like Pilgrim's Progress old-fashioned. I look at fiction as entertainment, not moral guidance.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Big fan of the Hays Code, I see

[personal profile] hey_hey_hey 2022-08-28 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
lmao

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
LOLOL. I see what you did there, OP.

I guess you could draw a variety of moral lessons from The Sound of Music. Is OP preaching ending up in a heteronormative marriage, or standing up to Nazis? I choose to read it as OP shipping Maria and the nuns, and being against Nazis, but YMMV.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
OP what do you consider "good moral habits"

and why should all fiction abide by that?

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah. I like my dirty sinful fiction full of morally gray and evil characters/story lines <3

But you enjoy that bland life OP!

That has never been and will never be a thing fiction does.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I think all narrative fiction is moral, but that doesn't mean that it has a duty to inculcate good morals in us.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'd prefer you be an anti over that.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-28 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Why?

(Anonymous) 2022-08-29 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT - antis are awful internet bullies, but at least they're just on the internet. The morality police are pulling awful shit in real life, which is especially troubling as a queer person.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-29 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
NAYRT

Maybe they think good moral values include being pro diversity and inclusion.

People sure do leap to conclusions around here.

(Anonymous) 2022-08-29 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Cute, but that's not how morality-based rules tend to go, historically. The Hays Code was about morals, after all.

Oh, I see what you did there...

(Anonymous) 2022-08-29 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
fuck off colonizer lmao

(Anonymous) 2022-08-29 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe nobody's made the "you sound white and American" comment on this secret specifically.
