It was based around a fictional character, and we used neo-Paganism as a basis - mostly we wrote rituals and discussed what our religious holy days would be, and how the mythology of the character(s) related to other religions and mythology. And a couple of people were able to go to a place related to the fandom, and perform our rituals there, and reported back. Things like that.
