I mean, Gerard Way is queer. Their gender is very uh. Much not cis (he's tweeted he prefers he/they both since 2015 and been open about struggles with gender identity earlier than that). And given the talk about "coddling" an "infection" which is not what you do??? I def think it's meant to be some wordplay with some traumatized trans person who went to war in order to impress their mom and be taken seriously as a person and earn Mom's love, committing atrocities in the meantime.
