I love this film to this day <3 Oddly I tend not to think of it as superhero film because Batman doesn’t have superpowers and I’ve only just realised I think that way when I read your secret.

Same. I love that movie, but also never classed it as a superhero movie in my head.

It’s a solid film, great atmosphere and really fun costumes. It’s one of my favorite Batman movies because I feel like it hits the right balance of goofy and dark. Fits in tonally with the comics where I enjoy Batman’s character and Gotham as a setting most.

I don't know if I agree that it's the best ever made, but I have a hard time ranking things as best ever, and it and Batman Returns are definitely my favorite Batman movies.

Adam West verse is too silly.

And while I appreciate that the Nolan trilogy shows that a guy who dresses up like a bat to fight crime has Issues, they glorify him and violence and ends justify the means brutality too much. And to make room for all the honor and teeth gritting and manpain, they stripped out every ounce of fun.

I barely remember the DCU ensemble movies Batman, and Battinson is better than the Nolan films because the film goes all in on "Batman is so fucked up," and doesn't glorify him at all. But just like the Nolan films, it's also no fun whatsoever.

So yeah. Not quite as ridiculous as Adam West Batman, hasn't had the fun systematically removed, therefore they're the best Bat films.

And the Schumacher films are a bad fever dream toy commercial that I try to forget ever existed.

AYRT--yeah, I know. I don't have a candidate I think is a better superhero movie because it's too broad a category for me to rank all superhero movies ever that way. But I'm not OP, and I'm glad they love it even if our opinions don't perfectly match.

Not for me. It's Superman (1978) all the way, but Batman Returns might be second.
