It's good to know some people find it likable. I haven't gotten around to watching S2 yet, although people saying they hated it did not deter me, I've just been lazy about making the time to watch. Despite being an absolutely lifelong Trek fan, I'm very un-picky about it and there's nothing I NEED it to be so the franchise can do whatever. I've learned that some people get very mad at Trek for reasons that do not affect my personal enjoyment at all so I just don't even pay attention to any negativity that sounds vitriolic. (Criticism is fine, but I'm not wasting my time on other people's angry rants.) The worst Trek can do in my mind is be boring and if S2 bores me I'll just stop watching and go on with my life.
