I agree. It's when people get disproportionally toxic and dramatic about a story's imperfections that I start pushing back (because usually it boils down to "Well, I don't understand X, and have no interest in understanding X, therefore X must be stupid" or "I had my heart set on Y happening but Y didn't happen, therefore this is trash!"). But just pointing out something could have been better is not the same as saying you hated it, and is perfectly fair. Even harsher criticisms that acknowledge the whole picture can be fair.
