She's only the straight man because of how quirky the other cast are, so you pull a Frasier on her. Take her from being the straight man in quirky cast, to see how quirky she would be when freed from that role and let her be the quirky one in her home group.

Penny is such a generic dumb white blonde girl character though, she doesn't have enough personality to support a whole show like Frasier does, your comparison is ridiculous

Didn't her dad use to treat her like a "boy" for until she was a pre-teen? And she's actually really mechanically intuitive (which fits with the dad treated her like a boy thing). I think you could do a lot with that.

This. Also, aren't her siblings really stupid compared to her? Penny isn't academically gifted the way the rest of the BBT cast is but she's portrayed as having street smarts whereas her brother got arrested for cooking meth at home, iirc. You could do something with that.

just because I don't think a show about young Penny should exist doesn't mean i think a young Sheldon show was a good idea. Big Bang Theory was a crap show as it is, it didn't need any spin offs.
