Why are those more boring than any others, in particular?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-10 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
For some reason my first reaction was "where do you rank Betterhelp in the scale of sponsorship irritation?"

... tier list of most annoying sponsor bits y/y

Not OP, but people having Betterhelp sponsorships puts a real dent in my respect for their integrity, due to Betterhelp's terrible reputation and the very serious nature of the harm that kind of shit can cause people.

I didn't know that about Betterhelp but I feel that way when I see people sponsoring with Noom.

Oh yeah, I've known about that for a while; they actually came up in one of my Discords right before I saw this secret, which is why that was the first one I thought of. They get the "should be banned from doing sponsorships" tier from me.

What's the Tea on BetterHelp?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-11 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Short version is that they're trying to be the Uber of therapy.

Ugh, yes. I think Skillshare is the most annoying ones right now. It's not that I begrudge Youtubers the money or anything but it's so damn obvious that they're all getting the same bullet points to mention. I'm actually relieved when the sponsored part of a video starts and it's just some matress company at this point.

Companies whose name I heard and immediately skip to the end:

Skillshare
Hello Fresh
Audible
Raid Shadow Legends
Honey
Express VPN
Nord VPN
Squarespace

(I'm not in the US so all the codes are irrelevant to me anyways)

I've seen almost no Raid sponsorships, just hear peopke joke about it. They must not sponsor the channels i watch. Nord VPN is the most annoying to me.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-11 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
They used to be a lot more common, but I've seen them on food channels...

hm. Almost exclusively food channels? I don't watch all the kinds of channels that exist obviously, but the ones I've seen Raid sponsorships on have all been food.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-11 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
I've only seen one channel do a Raid sponsorship and that was a horror channel.

All the food channels I watch tend towards food/cooking related spons, so I don't mind them as much.

Maybe it's because I have YT Premium but you can just skip the ad?

(Anonymous) 2022-09-11 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
They're not ads, they're sponsorships where the Youtuber you're watching talks about how they've used this thing for foreeeeever.

Ah sorry I meant just skip past the sponsor bit? Some of the creators I follow even time stamp their sponsors (some of them call it "adrolls" so I've shorthanded them as such too 😅)

(Anonymous) 2022-09-11 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
You’ve got to do it the old fashioned way with sponsorships. Still not that much of a hardship for me, but I grew up when being able to just fast-forward through ads was still a luxury.
