I haven't watched Supernatural since season 4 and I still kind of want to defend him, which makes me feel exasperated with myself. Anyway, I think you'll get a lot of pushback on this.

to be fair to you, he's definitely got a heart of gold, people-pleaser, victim of abusive, imo, parenting thing going on for him from seasons 1-3. it just, ah, devolves in to something a little more pathological after hell.
