OP/anyone, examples please
(Anonymous) 2022-09-12 12:22 am (UTC)(link)What am I missing? I think I constantly overlooked his faults. He definitely did have "Dean knows best, do what I say" energy, but I always felt like that came from his older sibling looking after his brother/always being the protector -- so it came off kinda strong some times.

(Anonymous) 2022-09-12 12:29 am (UTC)(link)Which is to say, his controlling energy/attitude always came off as an imperfect way of him showing that he cared -- this is the only way he knew how to show affection and protect someone. It's less I'm trying to control you and be "all alpha" (which i think at some point was made fun of and he cooled it with that eyeroll worhgty nonsense) and more this is how I know I can show you I care about you. Again, the imperfect ways imperfect people show love. It's not an excuse, I just always kind of saw it that way. There were definitely times where it was a pissing match, sure. But I always felt for the most part it was a guy trying not to be left alone and trying so show the people in his life he cared about them through actions.
