I worked for walmart for three years before getting covid in late decemeber of 2020. I was so ill I had a fucking STROKE and was in the hospital and then sick for the entirety of 2021 and on a leave of absence. I kept getting threatening messages from my store's HR manager (who hated me for unknown reasons) because sedgewick wouldn't process/update my claim as my return-to-work date kept getting pushed back and back and back with every new development/test/issue. they would say they had e-mailed paperwork to my doctors, paperwork would never arrive, etc. doctors would send THEM things and they'd never receive them, etc. it was a trainwreck. I eventually recovered enough to go back to work in november of last year and I got another job instead because I couldn't get them to approve the whole leave I'd been on all year! that company is a nightmare.

DA

Oh, lord, I just started a job at our local clinic, where I handle filling out and completing disability forms for patients, and the amount of times I have faxed something to a company only for the patients to call me and be like, "They said they never got it...", I swear, I could get rich off of that at this point. It's so fucking frustrating, because I know the faxes went through (we always get a sheet indicating when they don't), so they're either horribly backlogged or they're just not paying attention or they're deliberately claiming they never got the forms for whatever reason. I've had a few patients who go through Sedgwick who've ranted about those kinds of issues in dealing with them as well.

So if companies like Sedgwick are like that, I can only imagine how much worse a company like Wal-Mart would be, further exacerbating the problems you and others in your situation have to deal with.

All of which is a long-winded way to say you have my utmost sympathies and I share in your frustration with that mess.

dear lord.

=.=

It's funny because during height of the pandemic and all that Sedgwick was on the ball and you could expect your leave to be processed post haste when it was Covid related. And now it's like "well fuck we don't care"

It's infuriating.
