Most likely you're imagining it, but some people do seem to be on F!S to harsh other people's mellow or complain about what other people find fun. And negative comments stand out in the mind far more than positive ones. Ignoring them is easier said than done, but better than feeling bullied into silence.

It's not me you're talking about, but as the person who made the "I don't get how some people can still favor FFN over AO3" secret a few weeks back, and was accused (by someone, not like all of FS or anything) of doing it out of spite because someone upthread had posted a secret that was critical of AO3 and pro-FFN: the truth is that sometimes what prompts me to think of a secret is reading someone else's secret and realizing my opinion differs strongly from theirs.

Spite and ire have nothing to do with it. It's just, "Wow, HARD disagree from me on this secret. Oh hey, my strong opinion on this topic has what it takes to be a secret of its own. Cool."

I get why you feel the way you do. A lot of FSers hate a couple of my fandom loves, and it can be a bummer/annoyance seeing all the negativity sometimes. But even if this FSer was motivated by your secrets, it probably isn't really personal per se, so much as that seeing positive secrets about the thing made them remember how much they dislike the thing, which prompted them to make secrets on the subject.
