I think this is basically reflective of Sandman's approach in general - for better and for worse, it's very rooted to the pacing and storytelling choices of the original comic. It's good that they're being faithful, but there are also definitely a lot of points where the pace of the TV show is visibly creaky or flawed. And it's almost always because it's something that works in the comics but doesn't really work on TV.

Late to the party (as usual), but the cat one messed me up emotionally worse than anything else on the show. It was good, but it broke my heart to pieces. T_T
