Porco Rosso.

Because it was funny, and it dealt with some fairly serious matters in a way that was... lighthearted enough to make a story without taking away any of the basic seriousness.

Because there was that huge generation gap of people who'd lived through the first war and were wearily watching the next one coming, while the bright young things were hopping around.

Because Porco Rosso and Gina made for an epic slowburn love story.

Because the sea and the sky purify my heart.
