Same, OP. I had a couple requests once upon a time for tagging for basically two adult characters sharing a joint in a scene where the smoking was very secondary and I apologized but said no.

This is totally fair. I really hate when characters who aren't canonically established as pot smokers are written smoking pot in fanfic, and it absolutely is something that turns me off when I encounter it in fanfic, but I also would never ask an author to tag for it, because despite my personal dislike of it, it really doesn't seem like something worth mentioning unless it comes up in the fic quite a bit.

I love tags and I love tagging, but it's also true that you can't please every singe person, nor are you obligated to try.

Exactly. Because if you do, you end up with a wall of tags that, frankly, a lot of people don't even bother looking at. I know I don't.
