I'm almost certain that this is incredibly widespread for Youtube channels. There's so much pressure for content, and especially content the algorithm likes.

At the same time, it still completely sucks, and it sucks that the algorithm forces so many channels into all of these identical buckets.

I'm finding this is an issue across true crime AND conspiracy theory podcasts. It's super annoying. At least pull up something more interesting. Something. Please!

Yeah, I feel like this is particularly frustrating with conspiracy theories bc there's so much carcinization with conspiracy theories - so many conspiracy theories end up reshaping themselves until they all end up in an identical place, and so a lot of conspiracy theory content is in danger of being same-y and repetitive to start with. When people are lazy, it's 10x worse.

AYRT

Exactly!!

Do you have any conspiracy theory podcasts you recommend?

I've also been listening to Darknet Diaries and the host THANKFULLY didn't bother retelling the silk road fiasco and instead said (paraphrasing) "it's been done before, so many ways, you should check out Case file ep#(this was actually the episode that got me started on case file) and some other podcast- they do good coverage" and carries on with whatever he was presenting. All I could think was thank goodness!
