Everything Viola says about Michele feels like she doesn't like her. It just comes off as snide? Not jealous but unsympathetic to whatever hardships Michele had, because they are privileged hardships, unlike Viola's hardships. And this was the worst performance I've ever seen her give. It legit feel like the type of parody mocking you'd give about someone you didn't like.

I don’t know if I think that all actors absolutely must find some sympathy with their characters, but I certainly think it produces the most interesting performances.

Yeah, considering that some of my favorite performances have been actors portraying literal Nazis, I sure hope not.
