My primary school showed Dot and the Kangaroo to the entire school (so ages 5-12) on the last day of school one year, in a darkened hall. The littlest kids who weren't distracted at the time were terrified and crying! I was scared enough, but my little brother had nightmares at least through all that summer holidays.

Our Primary School decided to show the 5-6 year old kids a cute animated bunny movie - Watership Down. That went down just as well as you can imagine.

I was genuinely starting to wonder if I made this up given no one else I know has heard of Dot and the Kangaroo but nope he is just as terrifying as I remember, thanks for the reminder (and minor vindication) OP!

The main thing I remember about Dot and the Kangaroo is the duck song. Man I love that song.
