No, come on. It has many excellent attributes, and also many, many, many glaring flaws, completely separate from the later descent of the author into bigotry and nonsense. It's not some timeless perfect story. Most of the problems that people have with it are extremely well-justified.

And that's particularly true of the worldbuilding. The worldbuilding is charming but it's hardly in-depth or novel or amazing. It's a whimsical coat of paint on top of pre-1965 British upper middle class values.
