Re: Italy's election: the far right is set to win. :(

I've been following it distantly, and the whole thing (I mean we can go back as far as you want) but it's been...mess, to put it kindly. I was last in Italy let's say...ten years ago? Thereabouts, and I recall even then some radio channels having people call in talk about how they didn't want migrants etc. So, yeah. Not a surprise.

From my observations, a lot of countries have had their far/approaching far right (whatever their equivalents are) emboldened over the last few years. From Trump, to Bolsonaro, to Le Pen and Orban...I mean and these are just a few. The reasons for this are many, and I'm not informed enough on each country's history and current events to speak on it in depth, but it seems like for a lot of people, there's a question of identity/a country's mythos and fear of "the other". (Not counting power and greed, of course). Whether that be a different group from within the country or a new group of people.

Feel free to vent etc. :/ that really sucks, anon.
